SUMMARY:Spirit Arts Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Enjoy a creativity retreat as well as have fun and relaxation at the beach this winter! The retreat center has great workshop spaces for music\, art and dance. Art supplies and some percussion instruments will be provided. Bring your voice as an instrument or any other instrument of choice. \nSpiritVoice is for those interested in developing their natural voice\, cultivating personal power\, singing their soul song and expressing their inner music.  The voice is the instrument of the body\, expressing who we are and what we feel. We will develop skills through improv structures\, circle songs and developing skills on how to use the voice therapeutically for health and well being. \nSpiritArt is expression through art. Most of us are visually oriented. Before we could speak\, we thought in images. Yet facing the blank page can feel like a void. Let us guide you to approach art making with abandonment\, like a child. Surrender to the materials and let them guide you as you create from the inside out. \nSpiritDance is dancing in the moment\, guided through imagery\, and prompts. Live music will be provided with guitar\, flute\, drum & voice. Express yourself through the body and motion. \nSpiritArts can be used by anyone regardless of artistic experience\, to create profound changes within. You will also have time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings\, great food and the people who will share this experience with you.

SUMMARY:aLIve with Music - Centerport\, Long Island\, NY
DESCRIPTION:Join Music for People and Sound Artist Facilitators — Mary Knysh\, Prana Rising\, Jim Oshinsky and Tracy Hamilton — for a boundless weekend of musical self expression. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or someone feeling called to express themselves through music\, everyone is welcome! Ignite your passion for music and leave inspired and renewed! Unleash your musical potential in this transformative and inclusive community where creativity knows no bounds. \nMost of us learned music the traditional way—reading notes\, placing fingers just right\, and playing pieces written by others. While this can create beautiful music\, it often leaves little room for personal expression. \nBut music can be something more. It can be a shared experience—a group agreement. Just like singing “Happy Birthday” together\, we can join a steady beat\, hold a note\, or take turns responding to each other in a musical conversation. \nAt our 1 or 2 Day Creative Music-Making Event\, you’ll explore the joy of spontaneous\, interactive music. Whether you call it improvising\, jamming\, or simply having a musical party\, we’ll guide you in using what you already know to create music in the moment. \nNo formal training required—whether you’re a seasoned pro\, or a complete beginner\, we will discover how all people can create music\, with just a willingness to take the first step. Come discover the music that’s already inside you\, and already inside us all! \nProgram Dates: May 31st & June 1st – Register for 1 or 2 Days\nTimes: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm\nRegistration Website: https://thesoundartist.com/pages/music-for-people-mfp-workshop
