Register for the Winter MusicFest
Register for Music for People’s first-ever Midwinter MusicFest taking place on Saturday, February 20th. The daylong program is open to musicians of all backgrounds and skill levels, including students, teachers (who may earn CTLE credit from the New York State Education Department), performers, composers and healing arts practitioners.
Midwinter MusicFest will feature MfP’s international teaching staff and a blue-ribbon panel of guest presenters affiliated with our Musicianship and Leadership Program. They include Wendy Valerio, director of the Children’s Music Development Center at the University of South Carolina; Jens Schumann, a jazz pianist, movement and sound specialist, and drum circle facilitator based in Italy; and Jimbo Talbot, a Central New York sound therapist, drum circle facilitator, and team builder.
Rounding out the lineup are MfP’s core faculty—Mary Knysh, Irene Feher, David Rudge and Alina Plourde—and other affiliated artists, including pianist Alison Weiner and percussionist Kofi Donkor.
There’s something for everyone at this virtual meetup—musical storytelling, guided vocal improvisation, small-ensemble playing, rhythmic explorations, creative movement, sound healing and much more!
